Nerja October half-term and when to book flights??

Help please. Having booked summer hols which involve lots of driving and visiting interesting places have decided will need a week just chilling out hanging around the beach maybe pool (if warm enough) and Nerja has caught my eye. Found nice apartment but before I book just wanted some advice from anybody who has been to Nerja. We really want laid-back Spanish type holiday with our children, who mainly want to be in the water!

Second part of the question is when to book flights. Do I book now or are there likely to be cheaper flights available nearer the time. Any experienced flightbookers willing t give an opinion? Thank you in anticipation!!

Bump - please - any advice on either Nerja or Booking October flights welcome. You dont have to know answer to both parts of the question!!

My Mum lives fairly close to Nerja and I really like it.

Burriana Beach is sandy and has chiringuitos along it. The other beach in the older part of Nerja is pebbly so good for a nose and pebble picking but not so good for sunbathing/paddling etc.

There are some amazing caves in Nerja that are worth visiting. I thought they were stunning and was mightily disappointed when I visited Wookey Hole after!

I find it best to book flights with budget carrier as soon as they are released or when they have a sale on as the nearer you get the higher the price. Also, not sure if this would work now with Euro and fuel prices but once it worked out cheaper to book return flights with Thompsons in the school hols.

HTH, have fun

Thanks for advice - You may have seen another post I have put on. I have changed mind about October and decided to go for last week in August instead and thinking about Corfu - but could still look at Nerja for end August. Undecided!!

Can I just ask - does Nerja feel Spanish? I really dont want a resort that feels British with sunshine. I really like to experience a degree of the local culture. The beach and the caves sound good. If you could give any more advice I might revert back to Nerja. THanks K .

* what does HTH mean?* I a rubbish at deciphering codes

Hi

I live in Nerja, last year the sumer went on and on. I swam in the sea in Oct when I am usually pulling on my winter woolies I usually travel back to UK with monarch but I think their flight times have gone funny recently.
There are a few english bars in Nerja but it still has a very spanish feel to it. Lots of very good tapas bars which children of course are welcome. Hope that helps
