Please look at this list of destinations from London City and help me choose somewhere to go in May with a toddler

here.

We would like to go somewhere for a week or so leaving around 15 May. DS will be 18 months. Somewhere not too cold but doesn't have to be pool weather. Anywhere that we can go self-catering the other side in a toddler friendly place would be good (or a hotel, but really want space in the evening so he can sleep and we don't have to be in the same room being very quiet.

All suggestions gratefully received.

what is your budget? Big difference between some of those destinations i.e Newquay versus New York! Do you want a city break or will you hire a car and go somewhere more rural?

From the list I can say Amsterdam is lovely and probably ok with a toddler (although I went pre-kids). Had a fab week in Ibiza with DD1 in a hotel but with a large suite and balcony. Edinburgh and Glasgow are great but not for the weather and possibly not for a week with a toddler. New York is fab but really best without children IMO. Same goes for Paris. Had a brilliant week in Jersey once many years ago - relaxed with great food but needed a car to explore.

I know! Well, we would like to go outside Great Britain, probably not as far as New York, flying time 2.5 hours or so would be about as much as I would like.

Budget - flexible but under £1.5k would be good. Would be happy to hire a car but it does eat into the budget somewhat.

Cala D'or in Majorca is loevly for children and will be just getting warm in May.
Shortish flight, lots of places to eat out in the evening, nice marina to walk along.

We love Majorca am going again this summer.

Okay my vote would be either Ibiza or Majorca in that case. Neither are too expensive and you wouldn't necessarily need a car. And you'd be WARM

I would fly to Nantes (West France) and stay in a cottage/gite with www.totstofrance.co.uk

I would go to Ibiza or Majorca, at least it shouldn't rain too much there!

Great - well definitely narrowed it down. Seriously considering Majorca, which looks similar but cheaper than Ibiza, and will also look at Nantes.
