Hi

I want to take my 14 month old to see some lambs. Does anyone have any recommendations on this as a day out? Are we too early? We live in West Oxfordshire.

Any advice greatfully received.

Jo

I think lambs start coming end of March into April. I don't know the area but do a local search for open farms. There should be something. Hope this helps.

Hi

I saw something on TV about lambing already started (with Kate Humble) and don't want to miss it. Will do a search.

Many thanks

The Earth Trust at the Wittenham Clumps have wonderful lambing weekends in March and April each year. 2011 dates are Weekends 26th & 27th and 2nd & 3rd April. See www.earthtrust.org.uk

Hope this helps

Not got suggestions for venues, but here in West Berks we start lambing the Dorsets in September and finish up with the welsh mules in May . Just done the second crop of Dorsets and Cluns. The north of england mules and Clins start next week.

Farmer Gow's usually advertise lambing weekends, Rove's farm probably have them as well. Depending on where you live, there's a small farm shop near Harwell that usually has a few lambs that you can pet, not a day out though.

cotswold farm park near bourton on the water is amazing, I love it as much as my DS who's now 3 but we have been going there for 2 years. Lovely cafe and you can bottle feed the lambs too, plus lots of other animals to see.
