hostels - recommend?

I have never stayed in a hostel. Prices are so good though compared to hotels. I'm looking for one in London - around kensington area (I think). I think!!

Look at www.hostelworld.com and then search for a hostel. Base you search on 'ratings' not price etc. I have used this site for years and the ratings have been true and accurate every time!

Thanks for that. I have been looking all morning. Just realised I am too old?! the age range seems to be 18-35 and I am in my 40s. How awful - I feel ancient. Are all hostels like that? I am having problems finding one for the dates I want - 2 weeks time.

I have stayed in hostels with people aged 3 months to 86 so just stay away from the ones with a pub attached! If the ratings are not great for 'fun' then you can be assured that the contiki crew will not be staying there.
