Planning a trip to NYC in May with DP and DS (who will then be 20 months). Would appreciate advice from any mumsnetters who've taken tots to NYC, particularly if you rented an apartment through a site like homesaway.com. Having done a bit more research, the scamming level seems really high and I've also found postings on TripAdvisor that suggest anything less than a 30 day rental is illegal and that local residents want visitors to boycott such sites. It's a really special trip for us - DP's 40th and our first long haul with DS, so if anything goes wrong (like on the scale of the apartment not being there), we'd be devastated (and skint as we've been saving for months). Would be grateful for advice or anything (family friendly hotel/accommodation suggestions in Manhattan that won't break the bank, etc). Thanks so much!
