We are thinking of a week on a Gulet combined with a week on shore, have seen a few companies on the web doing this sort of holiday, has anyone been on this sort of holiday? (with dd, 15 and ds 12)

Thanks!

I did it many years ago and it was fantastic. It is something I would definitely do again when our children get older. 12 and 15 is a good age to go.

It is such a chilled out holiday, lots of swimming and wonderful food and you see so many lovely places. The cabins can be a bit small but you don't need to take too much with you as you don't need to dress up in the evenings and I lived in a swimsuit and shorts during the day. You don't need too many shoes either as you can't wear any on board.

Where are you thinking of having your week ashore?

I did this when I was 11 - so many years ago. It was one of the best holidays we ever had. My cousins and I slept on deck at night so we could watch the stars. We stopped in
lots of stunning coves and moored in some lovely little villages. Turkey was pretty unspoilt back then, it's changed a lot since then but as long as you avoid the huge tourist traps I bet it would still be idyllic.

We haven't got as far as where we are going! apart from Turkey....

Will call Tapestry holidays this week as they seem to specialise in Gulet holidays

We did this pre-kids and it was fantastic. The cabins are fairly basic & small but you'll be spending most of the time out of it so it shouldn't be a problem. You cruise from swimming spot to swimming spot so loads of reading/relaxing on deck.
