London aquarium?

thecloudhopper · 14/02/2010 19:28

I know tecnically this is a museum but we went and were the only 1s there.

The cabinet war rooms and churchill museaum- it is fab and not so well known as some museums.

Covent Garden is FANTASTIC and great to explore.

The London eye -great on a clear day.

The open top bus tours are also good.

Lots of Pizza Express vouchers around at the mo: got to be better than The Rainforest Cafe.

Splishysploshy · 14/02/2010 20:05

I agree we did the Churchill Cabinet Rooms in October half term with DS13 and DD10. it was really good, kids got in for free and we used a 2 for 1 voucher we printed off internet before we went.
Took my DD to London today and she wanted to try a Sushi bar for lunch, We loved it and so did she. x

Christina- I agree the museum of childhood is fab

tkband3 · 14/02/2010 20:36

Museum of Childhood is fab, but not sure it'd be great for the teens.

There's stacks on at the Southbank Centre this week - worth checking out their Imagine festival.

Horniman Museum comes highly recommended - haven't made it there yet, but it's on the list .

If you went to Covent Garden, the Transport Museum is great - and free for under 16's I think.

Sorry, have just realised I've mentioned 4 places and 3 of them are museums .

thecloudhopper · 15/02/2010 13:37

Have had another idea just to explore go to fortnam and maison and harrods- you never know who you might see.

Probably a bit late as half term nearly over but remember a friend raving about the amphibious vehicle tours. Think they drive around Whitehall then go into the Thames and float along the river.

BooToYouToo · 18/02/2010 13:52

Just checked amphibious vehicles on the web, they are called Duck Tours.

BooToYouToo · 18/02/2010 13:54

Noticed there's another thread called Ducks vs Double deckers, gives good feedback for the Duck.
