Ducks vs. Double Deckers

I'd love to know your thoughts on whether the Duck tour or the Original Bus tour would be the better option. I know that we can get on/of the bus, and that the tickets come with free walking tours and a river tour. The prices are almost identical. We've done a Duck tour in another city, and it was lots of fun. But the double decker is so quintessentially Londonish... I'm conflicted, can you tell? Thanks!

tbh I thought the original bus tour was really boring and that was an history interested adult not a kid. They won't be much interested in the history but the duck tour will be HEAPS more fun for everyone!
Driving past the palace in a boat and plunging into the Thames, what's not to love?!

Duck tour for me!! The traffic in London is so bad that even on the Duck you spend a fair bit of time sitting in traffic, no fun for anyone but at least on the Duck you get to wave at the people who are staring at you! The first time we went on I had my dd aged about 7 at the time. She was no fool but I managed to fob off her questions about why the vehicle looked so strange and so she had no idea we were going in the river and the look on her face as we drove into the water will stay with me forever!

Oh god I would love to go on a duck tour.

Not cheap, we've done it twice, once just me and dd and another time the four of us. I seem to recall the time the four of us went we got 2 for 1 tickets somehow, I think there may be fliers in the duck office or try their website

I was just about sold on the bus, and you've all suggested the Duck. You've been no help at all! I guess I'll have to go as DH's opinion...

oh the duck bus is fabulous.

I did it a couple of years ago and would do it again in a flash.

The tour guide was great, lots of bits of gossip and info such as how much tea at the Ritz cost as we drove past but also "lets all pull faces at the guards at the palace and see if they wink back".

And of course driving down the ramp on to the water is fantastic.

Do it do it do it.

Yep, another vote for the duck tour here. Did it a couple of years ago and it was brilliant ! Bit pricey but great fun. We went at the time the gumball rally was getting ready to go, so drove down with corwds lining either side and all os ud singing !
