Eurostar from St. Pancras - anybody left their car at station? Real Dilema!!

Any tips or advice would be greatly apopreciated!!
We are going to Disneyland Paris next month travelling on eurostar from St.Pancras. My biggest dilema is when do I go to the station!?
We live in Milton Keynes so are on the direct route into Euston, BUT for us to get there before check in we would need to leave with all the commuters travelling into London.. Dont really fancy this with 4yr & 3yr son!
SO, I looked at going down the day before & stopping in a hotel which the cheapest ive found so far is £150 room only!! So im now looking at taking the car down to london & leaving it in a car park, but have done several searches on internet but not coming up with anything that im happy with as I dont know the area!!
If anybody could recommend anywhere to me I would be really greatful!!! :-)

How about this website?

private parking

AttilaTheMeerkat · 10/02/2010 07:29

There is an NCP operated car park at the rear of St Pancras station.

www.eurostar.com/UK/uk/leisure/travel_information/at_the_station/stations/st_pancras_international.j sp

More information on the above website.

However, NCP are not cheap. If you are going to leave your car there for a few days then the cost could be very steep.

Car park in question behind St Pancras station.

Type of car park
Multi-storey

Facilities & services

Number of spaces : 322
Disabled bays : 12
Maximum height : 2.1m
Passenger lifts : 0
CCTV : Y
Accepts credit cards : Y
Congestion charge machine : Not Known

Daily tariffs

20 Minutes £ 2.00
40 Minutes £ 4.00
1 Hour £ 6.00
1 To 2 Hours £ 8.00
2 To 3 Hours £ 10.00

Have you checked the Euston Travelodge?
or could you book First Class on the train from MK so you have space? Or book seats?
yes - congestion charg in and then out again id you arrive and leave within charging hours.

A better option would be to catch the train at Ashford in Kent & leave your car there. Think it would be safer than central Lobdon. Another option is to drive somewhere closer to London on a direct line to St Pancras - eg Luton Airport Parkway. That would be far easier than going into Euston & having to get a tube to St Pancras

Blu · 10/02/2010 11:04

Does the Eurostar still stop at Ashford?

Surely an NCP Car Park would be safe - even in London . There'll be no on-steert parking anywhere, obv.

Euston is a few mins walk (10) from St Pancras..if you're travelling fairly light with your luggage in a rucksac i'd walk rather thanget tube.

Blu · 10/02/2010 11:05

Luton sounds a good idea! How much is parking at Luton?

NoahAndTheWhale · 10/02/2010 11:07

Euston is a few minutes walk from St Pancras - I definitely wouldn't get the tube as you'd probably walk as far as you would just walking IYSWIM.

I would get the train from Milton Keynes personally and maybe go first class. Driving to Kent from Milton Keynes would take ages and not be fun.

MrsBuzz · 10/02/2010 13:18

Thanks everyone for all your tips & advice. I'm in process of looking at booking seats from MK first class so atleast I woiuldnt have the worry about my little people!! :-)

We have parked at Ashford for DLP. Lots of Eurostar trains also stop at Ebbsfleet, but I think the DLP ones only stop at Ashford. It is very convenient for travelling with little ones.

MrsJohnDeere · 12/02/2010 12:55

Luton airport parkway is £6.40 per day iirc (and there's always plenty of space).
Car park right next to the station, very easy.

foxinsocks · 12/02/2010 12:57

first class still busy in the morning

if you are worried about making the time, I would just go the night before and stay in a travelodge/premier inn!

Pennies · 12/02/2010 13:06

We parked in the St Pancras NCP when we went to Disney - it was fine. It cost a bit (£75 for the weekend) but it made the journey home a doddle (assuming you're getting the disney train which gets back to London at 9-ish at night).
