What sort of place do you like? quiet, busy, beach, mountains? and anywhere in N Wales or somewhere more specific?

Anglesey maybe? hellooooo bl?

Dear biglips, if you head for Anglesey, Moelfre and Llugwy are lovely beaches and great for children. On rainy days there is the Sea Zoo at Brynsiencyn, the Pili Palas (butterfly house), Oriel Llangefni ( a lovely small museum and gallery) and plenty more.

Another good beach option is Dinas Dinlle, just out of Caenarfon, heading for Pwllheli - there is a family friendly site down there and the beach is ideal for children when the tide is out. Abersoch is another option, it's lovely but does get very busy.

If you prefer the mountains there is a sweet site at Dwygyfylchi which is just above Conwy - a good town to explore with a wonderful castle - and a very scenic site on the Capel Curig side of Bethesda, next to a river and a beautiful waterfall.

The areas around Penrhyndeudraeth (near Portmeirion) and Harlech are also stunning - Harlech has a 7 mile sandy beach and a fantastic castle.

Avoid Rhyl, Prestatyn and Abergele!

I hope you have a lovely time.

Not sure I should be sharing this with the world as it's our favourite site - we've used it for the last 4 years and it's great!

Easy walk to the beach and the kid's playground area is on the side of the hill overlooking the sea - sort of - absoltely gorgeous!
The hill is one of the only places where you can get a mobile phone signal!!
Here is the link Tyddyn Isaf, Lligwy Bay, Anglesey

EdieMay

Do you have any recommendations for sites in your last post - we are thinking of cancelling our planned trip to France and going away somewhere in the UK, cause of the forecast hot weather for August, the areas you mention sound lovely - we are looking for a good beach within walking distance of the site - Castles etc in thea area would be a bonus!

thanks
