We used keycamp
They were good have no complaints about them
The caravan was clean
Would go with them again

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 08/02/2010 19:09

I used to do it alot as a (older) kid and I loved it. I am definatly going to go with my DCs when they are a little older

thedollshouse · 08/02/2010 19:11

We went to keycamp at Garden Paradiso near Venice when ds was a baby. It was bliss, I would love to go back now he is older as there are so many facilities that we didn't make full use of. I think these type of holidays are perfect when you have young children.

Niftyblue · 08/02/2010 19:11

It was in the South of France
They were really helpful

Ds fell of a slide and we ended up taking him to hospital there rep came with us and sorted it all out for us

we have done keycamp, eurocamp, canvas. they are all much the same. some sites are better than others - suggest checking ukcampsites.co.uk as this makes big diff to holiday. gave up with keycamp as they couldn't get us across the channel on our chosen date several years running, despite me booking before the brochures came out - always thought it was cause our surname starts with 'w'. hated small vans as we continuously knocked ourselves - came back bruised! great holiday for kids

dreamingofsun · 08/02/2010 20:24

mrs tim - sorry tierd so didn't read properly - we've been mainly to brittany, so i can tell you about sites there. where were you thinking of going?

YoureGorgeous · 08/02/2010 20:28

gett he biggest accom you can

go somewhere where its likely to be warm ( ie not northern france) try and drive past the brits further south.

Union Lido near Venice is fab! Also we took our 5 yo to Siblu's Lac des Reves in the South of France last year. That is lovely site and there is loads to do in the vicinity. She loved the kid's club.

mrstimlovejoy · 08/02/2010 20:43

We went with Eurocamp to the Ca'Savio site near Venice. My DD made friends with two little girls who were opposite us with Keycamp. They were at the same Funstation etc so I think it must be the same company.

Anyway, very lovely spot for little ones as beach is sandy and the sea is shallow and warm. There was everything our children needed on site and we only went off site for culture for ourselves (Venice) and to go to a waterpark.

Was lovely!

PS. We flew and then got the bus, it was really easy as the bus stop was right out side the airport and only cost 30E max. Everyone we spoke to who had hired a car said it was a waste of money as they had parked it for the whole holiday. We cycled places as hired bikes and used the local buses.

We stayed in a Keycamp tent in 2008, and had a great time.
The tent was so comfy and had all that we needed.

CaptainUnderpants · 08/02/2010 22:04

We did keycamp a couple of yeras ago in South of France- in oneof their Supertents - fab time ! The keycamp people on site were mature - so I would havehad great conifidnece them should anything be an emergency . Nothing happenedbut rather them be on site than a couple of tennageers doing a gap year !

SixtyFootDoll · 08/02/2010 22:48

Capt w had the teenage reps they were sweet but useless!
They struggled to sort us out with a new lightbulb and ha no idea about the local attractions, I absolutley loved our tent and the beds were so comfy,

dreamingofsun · 09/02/2010 10:52

les duex fontaines was nice in brittany - you walked through the fields to be beach. all the others we've been to, you have to drive as we like large pitches and they are usually too small on sites near beaches

Leslaki · 14/02/2010 16:20

I liked les deux fontaines too - althought eh restaurant wasn't very good!
here is fantastic - perfect for a family holiday. been twice, missing this year (going to south of France with Siblu) but will be back at portofelice next year! Got fab pools, on a lovely beach, can walk into local town and not far from venice! Bus stop outside campsite to venice or caorle - ovely town woth a water park and lots to do! Canvas and Selectcamp go there and it's not full of Brits!

choppychopster · 16/02/2010 14:30

We stayed at Albatros in Tuscany with Thomson Al Fresco last year and had a great time. Love this sort of holiday with young kids as most of the parks have really good pools and you have a lot more freedom and space than we've found in hotels. Definitely worth checking Thomson Al Fresco as they tend to be on lots of the same parks as Keycamp, but I've noticed that they tend to be a bit cheaper. Also they seem to have more modern vans which all have decking.

eonie · 25/02/2010 15:29

We use Bolero Holidays, they are not a huge company but they occupy the best position at Union Lido (Centrally) and they have always been a very courteous company. We spoke to a few people on holiday last year that swapped from the other companies on site to Bolero.

We are going with them again this year.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
