Thanks smee we used the website you recommended and stayed in this fab apartment for a week. The owner provided a travel cot and sheets for it with no problem (another apartment we enquired about said the baby wasn't allowed!!).

It was in Prenzlauerberg, which is VERY baby friendly, and of course the Germans do public transport in a way we can only dream about here. There is a buggy button on the trams that you can press outside or in, when the driver gives you extra time to board etc, for example. Berlin is flat flat flat so walking for miles with the buggy every day was fine. I BF in public quite happily with no probs and most cafes and italian restaurants had high chairs. We has a thing you can tie to regular chairs to hold baby safely with us anyway. Vegetarians are not really well catered for, so we ate in Italians or Middle eastern places, where baby was very welcome and baby portions were served!

Happy to offer any more Berlin and baby info if anyone wants it...
