If you're in Brockenhurst and it's an outdoors sort of a day then The Crown has a nice beer garden with plenty of space to run around, on grass. It's on the left as you're coming into the town from Lyndhurst. Kids menu too I vaugely recall, and tasty. No idea about indoors but seemed better than the others in the town we scouted round.

I have taken my toddler DD to the Royal Oak at Fritham, which is lovely. Possibly better in warmer weather though as it is quite small inside. Doesn't serve sandwiches or chips, but lovely ploughmans, quiches and pies.

I have been to High Corner Inn in the past, which is somewhere around Linwwod iirc, and is probably more traditionally family friendly, but the food wasn't particularly nice last time I was there.
