Dh is going there at the weekend and knows nothing about it.
Business trip but he will have some free time.
Is there anything he should do (apart from swim, eat nice food, and admire ladies in tiny bikinis) and, more importantly, what should he bring back for me (and the dcs)?

sugar loaf mountain. I didn't do this as am afraid of heights but my friend did and my parents have also done it. They all enjoyed it.

I took a trip to a favella (lonely planet reccommendation) though not to everyones taste.

Tell him to carry as little of value as possible.

What about carrying things like mobile phones and blackberry which he has to have with him for work?

Its probably no less safe than London but I think tourists are a target, like anywhere really.
