Booking with Ryanair before the baby is born

Hi there

I've booked a villa in Galicia in Northern Spain in August, and the only airline that I know of that flies there (there being Santiago de Compostela) from the UK is the ever-lovely Ryanair. However, I am due to have DC4 in April. I don't know what I am having so I can't supply a name for the infant booking. If I wait until April, the flight in question will probably be booked up.

Has anyone ever booked a Ryanair flight before their baby was born? Should I just book it and swallow the £100 name change fee at a later date? I'll be paying so many other Ryanair charges that I could probably fly first class BA for the price. Bastards.

Can you phone then to ask what you do?

This is a bit emabarrassing, Hulababy. Because their customer service reputation is so bad, I didn't even try that. But because you told me to, I have and it was very straightforward. I book the five of us on now and I can go back and add the baby when it is born, with no extra charge other than the standard £20 infant fee.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the best...

Well done!

But how much did the phone call cost on their premium rate customer helpline?

10p a minute for 4 minutes. I can live with the loss.
