Trendy London Hotel

Rather than a party for his 18th, DS has decided that he would rather go to London for the weekend with his girlfriend. They will be at the hotel for a couple of nights, and would like to be fairly central. I don't want to pay a fortune, but would like somewhere nicer than a budget type hotel. DS likes nice things.

Any ideas gratefully received!

we have stayed in the Beauchamp in Russell Square/Bloomsbury.
Its lovely and boutique-y, smart modern rooms, walking distance to covent garden/oxford st etc.
I think its reasonable for London we are paying £190 for the whole weekend inc continental breakfast.
You can find it on the Grange Hotels site

Oh I love hotel threads. So you don't want to spend mega bucks but need a good hotel for a style concious 18 year old.

I reckon you need The Malmaison, The City Inn westminster or possibly even check out kingsway Hall in Covent garden or Melia white House. none are cheap but not silly money either. Hope he enjoys!

Am I the only person to be that you are willing to pay for your DS to have a shag fest romantic weekend with his girlfried?

Cheaper than a party Lyn!!! I did offer separate rooms, but they thought of my bank balance, and kindly agreed to share!

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll look them up now!

I'd also suggest the Zetter in Clerkenwell (very funky) and the Hoxton in Hoxton (cheaper and funky too). They're both brilliant.

Oh yes, second the Hoxton. Very cool.

What a great present.

Or again in Clerkenwell, the Rookery.

We recently stayed at The Kensington Hotel in South Ken (close to Kings Road). Found it on the Mr and Mrs Smith website but booked it direct. Its part of the Doyle collection.

Dean Street Townhouse

It is right in Soho just off Old Compton street. It couldn't be more central.

It's linked to Babington House, so has all the lovely cowshed products, has plasmas in room, iPod docs etc etc. and if they ask nicely they might get into Soho House private members club.

I think their small rooms are about £90?

If you do stay don't have breakfast in the restuarant it's a rip off.

Oh and the beds are the most luxurious thing i have ever laid my body.

Oh and i stayed in the biggest rooms and it had a bath in the room - seriously i think i want to magic myself there now......

i'm gone.
