Ooh how exciting !

As far as I know you don't need a work permit to work in an EU country but maybe you would do best to contact the Greek embassy to make sure.

Have a good time when you go.

i cant wait....i love cooking and running things and i have always fancied my own restaurant,so it will give me a good insight, and a tan too

officially yes, if you are going to be working with insurance then you should have a permit from the police. However, i am assuming that you will be working without insurance and unofficially so there really is no need.
No-one will ever check that you actually have a work permit and i can honestly say that not a single person that i have met in Corfu (that works in the summer) has one!
I have British citizenship and live and work in Corfu. I do have a work permit but this is because i work full time and pay insurance, tax etc.
You will have a great time, it is a really beautiful city! Let me know the restaurant and i will come and eat there in the summer!

elenio where do you live in corfu.
I have been going to greece for 30 years...it is my second home and i feel as if i have come home when i get there. Im probably a greekophile[,i love the people.
I have been there many times over the years,to nissaki, barbati, pyrgi.ag,georgio, gordis, also the south west and up to kassiope. I first went when i was in my early 20's ,met a georgeous greek man and nearly,so nearly married him,but i was very scared of leaving england.

I will be working in corfu town in a very olde world restaurant hopefully, near the church.

I am actually half Greek (father is from Aegina) and my dp is Greek (from Corfu) so i kinda feel more Greek than British!

I have been here in Corfu for the last 7 years (minus 1 year that i spent in Florence)and i live and work in Kassiopi. We do rent a small studio in Corfu town as well though, so i spend a lot of time there. It is great and you will love being here for the whole summer!

If you need a work permit you will need to go to the police station in town...let me know if you need any details!

I have alot of fond memeories of many holidays in Kerkyra and hopefully more to come
