It depends on what you want in a holiday, some people love rowdy, crowded resorts full of British bars and karaoke and others prefer quiet, traditional resorts where you can enjoy a good meal and relax by the sea.

I am assuming that you aren't looking for the rowdy kind of place so I would avoid Marmaris, Hisaronu or Kusadasi.

Fethiye is still a nice resort. Dalaman is really just where the airport is or do you mean Dalyan, that is still very nice too.

There are also some lovely resorts on the Bodrum Peninsula.

Let me know hat kind of place you are after and I may be able to give you some more suggestions. I lived in Turkey for a few years.

Sorry, a quick hijack! We've booked at an All-Inclusive hotel (Limak Lara) on the Antalya coast. We're not bothered about sight-seeing/exploring because we're only there for a week and are just looking for total r&r, but any local info would be fab!

Hi Nefret, what about Kalkan in the Kas area. Do you know this area?

Nefret · 28/01/2010 18:04

Bimble, I haven't stayed in Kas or Kalkan but I do know people who have and they say it is lovely there. They are more traditional resorts than some of the bigger ones.

Doglover, there is not very much to do in the Lara Beach area as it is pretty much a purpose built tourist resort with mainly large hotels. You can go into Antalya for a day though if you fancy a change of scenery and a bit of shopping.
