Hi, we're hoping to go to Menorca in May and have looked at Arenal de Castell, Cala Galdana and Fornells. We'll be travelling with my daughter Emilia who will be 21 months. Have seen a lovely villa in Arenall, but have read bad reports about steps to beach and also that it can be windy?? Any comments or other info from visitors to Menorca, and Arenall in particular please. Am getting so neurotic and in decisive since having baby!! Also, is it REALLY REALLY quiet?? We're not looking to party or anything but do love eating out and with a 21 month year old in tow need some kinda entertainment, albeit a decent play area! Oh, and bars!

My husband and I had our honeymoon in Menorca and it is lovely. A very quiet island and very easy to get around. The public transport was fantastic and the locals were really friendly.
we went to the capital Mahon a few times on the bus which had lots of places to eat.
Its lovely and I would go again.

What time in May first week or ? it matters. Menorcans can be very relaxed about opening for the season so the first week might have less open.

Not sure who "moaned" about steps at Arenal -but they are not steep and no that significant IMO access with buggy access. But there is a car park and ZERO steps at the eastern end

I would advise Galdana in you can. Little more upmarket than Arenal

The northern coast ( where Arenal / Fornells ) always has more wind as the wind moves more often north to sout dues to Afrca heating up to the south
