40th birthday weekend away ideas with kids

Any UK destinations to belatedly celebrate partner's 40th. Might consider Disney paris. Otherwise any hotels with good indoor facilities, near interesting city but nice countryside nearby as well. Not leeds! We live here!
Daughters are 11 and 5.

Depends how much you want to pay/travel but I would thoroughly recommend Crieff Hydro. It's in Perthshire but has masses to do for the kids and adults plus inclusive childcare. It's not cheap but they have offers on that will make it a bit less. It's on a 900 acre estate so plenty of lovely contryside - so much to do that you won't need a city to explore too! (Although Edinburgh is an hour away)
