Menorca in May/June half term-will it be warm enough to swim

Hi We are planning a half term trip with. I have found a great hotel in Menorca but am worried about the weather and sea/pool water temperature as really all they will want to do is swim. Infact I am guessing there won't be much else to do!
The canaries are more reliable but I am put off by the longer flight time with 3 boys under 6. Has anyone been and found it just too cold in May?

yes and no.

my parents used to have a villa in menorca and we often went for may half term. often it was lovely and we could swim, other times we didn't get out of our fleeces (with shorts, not jeans before you panic!)

if they are really into swimming i would get some children't wetsuits!

btw, the pool we swam in wasn't heated. if heated you may be ok but get those towel ponchos etc as it will be chilly enough getting out.

we went to spain last year for may half tem (mainland spain) and it was really really warm. wouldn't have wanted it hotter in fact.

it's just so variable that time of year.

no heated pool in temps under 25 is grim

I thought as much. If it is cold on holiday its pretty hard to entertain them. I doubt the pool will be heated. Looks like I may have to brave the longer flight.

if all they will want to do is swim then i would go for the canaries in may. get good flight times, it's worth the bit extra you have to pay with little ones imo!

No problems . Though often the question is really will I the Mum find it cold?
