....anyone been? how is it?

looking at a nice hotel, no roughing it. Not interested in "sight seeing" just want to relax ( as much as you can with 2 yr old!), clean water, nice beach, top notch hotel, good pool, nice food, all incl if poss.

Anyone been at this time of year? Any recommendations or horror stories?

I went last year with 3 yr old and 11 yr old.
Stayed at first choice in Sharm el Sheik.
Friends who happened to go the week before us (2 yr old) thought it was fantastic. We found it expensive but that was due to every activity for older one costing minimum £5, regardless if it was 1 go on a zip wire or what, so 2 week holiday you can imagine this added up.
To relax by a pool fantastic. I would say don't do the pyramids etc as I found it way too stressful, older one was harassed by men, younger one in pushchair had to have an armed guard at all times, as a bomb had previously been placed on child's pushchair (rep hadn't shared this information with us prior to the trip). Travelling in minibuses scary experience, younger one cut his head open, after minibus trip to camels, driver decided to go 3 abreast on single track unmade road, and then braked hard. Complained to rep when returned as organised tirp was told this was common and to be expected with the driving out there

thanks icedgems it's strictly a lounging holiday for us (the pyramids will have to wait). I've travelled a little in Asia which I adored but have never felt the pull towards Egypt, but apparently it's one of the better places for the weather at this time of year if you don't want to go over an 8 hour flight. Weather was good I take it?

We went at Easter. Weather was fantastic sunshine would of been very hot, but there was a continual strong wind, not detrimental but you were aware of it, but none of the locals commented on it, so therefore presume this is the norm for the area.
Depending on money, have a look at the Hilton and Sheraton. Had a look around these wonderful if you can get a bargain. Hilton has two sites, get the one by the sea, as the other was geared for the older generation. Whilst sea side was more for younger kids.

we've just come back from Xmas and new year at the holiday village. Our 2.4dd loved it. The hotel was spotless and service was excellent. Would defintely go back. Weather was perfect 27-28 degrees.

Check out the Four Seasons - very good deals at the moment.
