Do travel agents block buy airline tickets so that it's worth booking through them?

Need to get to Kingston, Jamaica in a hurry but fares with the airlines are unusually high for this time of year. It won't get any better closer to departure on Fri 22.01. I wonder if travel agents might be able to give better fares if they've block bought?

Have you tried worldwideflights.com or Southall Travel???

Tried them and they're higher than going thru airlines direct

Maybe there's a shortage of seats because of the crisis in Haiti? Have you tried flying via the US?

Looked at that option and it was also quite expensive. Thinking I won't make it.

Try newmont travel - you have to join membership to see fares and you don't have to be working in travel to use the site, it is for the general public.

Also, Newmont are ATOL holders and sell flights to USA and Caribbean from the UK. So have a look, your money will be safe.
