A friend is getting married in Lisbon in the May half-term and I'm thinking about taking the opportunity to take a short break there - does anyone know anything about good places to stay, nice areas? Ta.

I'll look into into, but go go go. Lisbon is amazing and it'll be rather mild in May, you lucky thing!

Lisbon is fantastic. I wish we'd spent more time there as its a beautiful city.

We went 2 summers ago to a town called Estoril, just along the coast from Lisbon, and also visited Cascais -both lovely towns with beaches, and with a good train link if you want a few days by the sea.

Lisbon is fab with kids - go!

I probably won't be able to find the site again but we rented an apartment and it worked really well with littlies.

I also recommend playa Caparica, if I remember well. (I went to lisbon some 15 yrs ago)

Ooh, thanks very much for all of these

It won't be with littlies - it will just be ME, ME out in the big wide world on my own! But I love a good beach so thanks for the recommendations

Just you? Even more exciting then . Bairro Alto used to be the trendy area, but as I said, things might have changed in these last 15 yrs.
Have fun!
