car seat to use on Easyjet

Hi,
I have asked this question in the car seat area too, but wondered also if anyone here has experince of taking a baby car seat to use on Easyjet. I have booked a separate seat for my baby (he'll be ten months) and the Easyjet website says the car seat you take to use on it has to be forward facing and less than 42cm wide.

Does anyone know of any seats that narrow? It seems to be very difficult to find one. Has anyone any expernce of using a baby seat on an Easyjet flight? What did you use?

Also, my baby won't actually be big enough for a forward facing car seat in the car yet when we travel, does anyone know of a convertible seat (rear and forward facing) that might do, or will I have to take two seats?

Hello, just wondering if you have had your holiday and which car seat did you use? We are planning a holiday when dd will be 20 months and I have not managed to find a car seat less than 42cm wide yet.

Do most people just not take a car seat? What then do most people do if you're traveling to for example the Far East where they don't use car seats? I could not imagine taking her in the car without the car seat.

We've just come back from Morocco for a week on Easyjet and my 2 year old's enormous Maxi Cosi Tobi was accepted as hold luggage with no problem. There's no way she would have been happy in the car seat for the 4 hour flight anyway so we just checked it in.

We had a hire car in Morocco and there's no way we would have gone without a car seat we can trust.
