YES! We went 2 years ago now and to be hoonest wasn't that entralled. Was touristy and quite busy and noisey. Wouldn't go back personally.

Yes! We went last year - never again. Every second place is an English eaterie/tattoo place. Bloody awful. There was even a fight between tattooed lunks of Dads one night - me and ds had just gone to bed, thankfully, but most children were still up.

Will return to Turkey, but definitely not there again.

Turkey is one of my favourite destinations, if you go to the right place it is heaven and hard to beat but a big NO to Marmaris!! Worst Turkish resort I can think of and I've seen a few. It's like the Blackpool of Turkey. Loads love it if you want to drink, party, get touched up by young Turks , run the restraunt gauntlet every night (not a problem in a more up market resort) then it's for you!

I love Turkey but I would never choose Marmaris. It is very, very, touristy, full of British pubs and karaoke bars.

Definitey choose Turkey but not Marmaris, there are plenty of much nicer resorts more suitable for families with young children.

Have a look at somewhere like Bitez, near Bodrum, that is a far more family friendly resort. Or if you particularly want that part of Turkey then look at Icmeler, Turunc, Akyaka, Calis Beach or Olu Deniz.
