anyone been to ile d'oleron in france??

went there for a day a few years ago arguing with dh at the mo about spending 10 days there in aug. anyone been??

Went for a day too, from Ile de Re. Just went to a beach, which waw lovely.

Personally, I wouldn't spend 10 days on there or Ile de Re, spent 5 days on Ide de Re and that was enough for us. But then if you just want to spend all day on a beach then am sure its lovely.

Spent 5 days on the coast at Royan just south o the islands and that was nicer as more to do nearby.

We had a week there a couple of weeks ago. Happy just pottering around on bikes and going to the beach tbh. As the bridge off the island didnt cost anything, we didnt mind going to the mainland. Prefer Isle de Re as a destination but would still recommend dóleron - prob less busy than Ile re Re in August?
