Mousses, Lefkas - did anyone go in 2009 and please can you tell me all about it

Thinking about going to Mousses around the end of June as it looks like it would suit our needs. We're after somewhere fairly relaxed, good childcare for 3 yo DD for a couple of hours a day, 2 bedrooms, nice places to eat out in the evening, no constant shouty "entertainment" (still shudder at the thought of last year's Holiday Village in Majorca). Am really struggling to find somewhere with a kids club for a 3yo that isn't too Butlinsesque in a big high-rise resort or mega expensive, but Mousses seems to be ticking all teh boxes so far.

Have seen lots of rave reviews on MN, but most of them seem to be a few years old. Did anyone go last year?

Would love to hear what you think as it seems quite pricy for what is essentially a fairly simple apartment holiday.

Went in Aug last year with 9 and 7 yr old for the second time and had a great time - does depend to some extent on ages of other children there at the same time. It is quiet but 5 mins drive to Lefkas town which is a lovely, unspoilt Greek town great for evenings out.

Thanks Lollell. Let's hope that there are going to be some other nice families at Mousses with 3-4 year olds in June! Simply Travel is currently showing nine of the ten houses available for the week I want to go (13th June) so hopefully they might be potential playmates for DD.

Anyone else want to let me know their thought on Mousses?

We have not been to Mousses (although have been to Lefkas) but have done Simply Travel resort & creches 3 times in Corsica, Zykynthos and Crete and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. All the people we've met holidaying there are lovely, the Creche staff all outstanding and we've had lovely relaxing holidays. There some lovely (shallow pebbly) beaches worth driving to on the NW coast of the island, they're not far from Mousses.

If you can still go outside school holiday times its good value - take advantage of this while you can!

Very late to this thread, but we went last May following the rave reviews on here and were pretty disappointed. The creche was fantastic, as were the outdoor areas (pool, etc), but the accommodation was really below par and not particularly child friendly. People do seem to love the place though and return year after year. We won't be returning though.

Lefkas is a really lovely island - would definitely go back there.

Thanks Rindercella. We've already booked it, but I've seen a few comments from people that the accommodation is pretty basic, so we're going with pretty low expectations for that part of the holiday. Looking forward to a couple of quiet hours by the pool with DH whilst DD is making some new friends in the creche. Any recommendations for beaches, restaurants, things to do in Lefkas would be very welcome though!

We loved a beach called Agios Nikitas on the NW coast of Lefkada. Absolutely beautiful and at the end of the village where there are a few great restaurants and a couple of bars.

Ooh I'm MNetter living on Lefkada....come and see me, I'm in Nidri.
