We have decided to give an active all in type holiday a try this yr, think Neilson look good ( MW seems to be getting rather poor press/reviews at moment) . Anyone been can you reccomend which beachclub we should go to . We have 2 dds aged 10 and nearly six ( when we go) both very good swimmers, older dd keen kayaker and dh wants to dive ( he is instructor level) i want to be left alone in peace .

I've been with them twice, once to Portomyrina Palace and then to the Retreat in Sivota. I can really recommend Portomyrina. The hotel itself is really nice and well laid out, plently of space around the pool/bar area for kids and adults not to bother each other too much. The beach is big, again plently of space and the staff were top notch. Food was good and from what i saw the kids club seemed like it hit the mark for most people. The nearby town is also worth a visit, its walkable if you dont mind the hill on the way back, has lots of places to eat and history. Sivota was ok....not really family friendly and just didnt hit the same mark as Porto. Overall i found Neilson fab as an operator and nothing was too much trouble etiher before we went or while we were there.

We've been to Portmyrina Palace in Lemnos twice - we really love it - only reason we didn't go back this year is cos they put their prices up by 20% for exactly the same 2 weeks.

I think you will find this is a great resort in all respects - not a long transfer from the airport either. Only downside would probably be the diving - they do have a dive school on site but I understand that there isn't much to see close to the resort...
