I want to go to auckland at the start of june. I have friends who are out there, but I am going over for a friends birthday, so it is a big suprise. I want to arrive in auckland on june 4th or after and stay for 2 weeks. give or take a few days.

I am a mess at looking at price sites. i have a million tabs open, and some prices quoted by comparison sites are not listed on the airline site.

anyone know any definate ways of getting cheap flights?

also, would it be cheaper to book it soon, or leave it till just before i fly??

I'm a Kiwi living in the UK and unfortunately there are never any really cheap fares to NZ. Try Kayak fare alerts. You set criteria and then it will email you weekly with available fares.

There are some sales on at the moment for travel around that time. If you don't care how many stopovers you have or how long you are travelling then Emirates and Royal Brunei are currently the cheapest. Korean and Malaysian are also usually pretty good value and are decent airlines.

The best deal I ever found was about £700 with Korean but that was a couple of years ago.

To be honest I've always found flight centre are very good with having the cheapest flights around so give them a call and they do a huge amount of the work for you.

Good luck.

I believe flight prices can change daily because they are driven by availability and therefore demand. So in answer to your questions, there is surefire way of getting cheap flights.

My advice would be if you think you're found a good deal then book it because it may be more expensive next week or not available.
