DH and I have narrowed it down to Lake Garda. We will be flying from Gatwick. Ryan Air do some flights to Brescia bit I am concerned they will go under by then so instead have seen some flights with BA to verona. How long woudl it take us to drive from Verona to Lake Garda? Which end of Lake Garda is better? Have you any tips for places to stay. We will be going at the end of June with 2 pre school aged kids. Thanks

It is about an hour to Lake Garda from Verona(canlt recall where the airport is in relation to city) itself then add on more for getting to the north or west end of the lake (so could be 2 to say Limone or Riva). Sirmione is lovely but probably one of the larger resorts like Riva or Garda istself is better for a family. Water parks etc seem to be on the SW end. Most towns have narrow cobbled streets which are not so buggy friendly if that is a concern.

Ryanair won't be going under.
Verona airport is a short bus ride from Verona city, which is lovely.
I stayed in Torre del Benaco in Garda. You can't go wrong resort wise really, they're all fairly touristy without being Benidormy. (IYSWIM)
