Easter 2010, i will be 5 months preg (hopefully).

me, dh and our 6 y o ds.

We would like warm enough to swim (either heated pool or hot weather). lots to entertain ds (other children for starters). great food, a direct flight with no long transfers.

Places we are considering so far are Grenada (but not direct flight), Middle East (Oman?), North Africa (Morrocco?).

I'd love not to have to do a big huge high rise complex with kids club, but if that's what it takes to relax on what will be our last holiday abroad for probably 18 months then...

I was in Grenada last Easter and it was absolutely lovely. Its a lovely island with a great vibe. Great temperature (not too hot) and just the odd rain shower. We stayed in a villa, but there are some nice larger hotels. You can fly direct with BA I think.

awwww.thanks drayford..

my worry is the flight...it's direct but stops somewhere else on route i think?

any villa recommendations and also which bit of the island would you recommend?

Loved Grenada - have done quite a few of the islands now and this is our favourite - if it is the BA or Virgin flight they stop for about 30 minutes but no need to get off etc and last leg is only about 30 minutes as I recall you stop only one way (out)

I stayed in Petit Bacaye last year, but it wouldn't be suitable for your DD as there is no pool and the sea and beach (although great snorkelling for me and DD - aged 16 at the time) is not particularly suitable for little ones. We stayed at Maca Bana the previous time, but again not particularly suitable for small children given the number of steps - although the restaurant is great and they have an aquarium!!!!!!. Plus, you'd need a car for both places.

I've heard good views of the Calabash (on prickly bay - good swimming) The Just Grenada website has some good info.

We're off to Nevis this year as we are always seeking something new in the caribbean. Have you looked at St Kitts??? BA fly direct I believe. Us nutters are flying to Nevis via Antigua with BA and using LIAT to transfer (which translates as luggage in another terminal!!!!) so I wouldn't suggest that with you pregnant and a little one in tow!

We lived in Oman and I can't recommend it highly enough. DD was born there and we left when she was 2.2. When we lived there, there was chuff all to do so we'd drive to Dubai for fun and excitement. Now, I understand from friends who have dc themselves, it has improved greatly.
Friendly people and a great climate. It would get my vote.

Grenada is fab. You stop at Tobago for half an hour on the way there, but on the way back it's a direct flight home. Went there twice within the space of six months. Take a beak at photo on my profile - taken in Grenada.
