Florida (Hotel or Villa)

Only been to Orlando once and we stayed in a budget hotel on international drive.

We're hoping to go again but were wondering if a villa would be better.

There are 2 adults and 3 kids.

We both drive so the car wouldn't be a problem and I think it would give us that freedom and privacy that we like.

We're not interested in Disney but would be buying the Orlando felxi-ticket again.

Any advise welcome!

we first stayed here through Virgin

we had a package deal and it was fantastic. We had a two bed apartment with two bathrooms, open plan kitchem, dining area and sitting room.

We loved it sooo much we bought a timeshare and have been twice more.

There is loads to do every day for the kids on the activity side and the staff are just lovely.

There would be no problem booking your flights and contacting the hotel direct.

I'd definitely recommend a villa if you're travelling with children. You'd have so much more space plus a private pool and the option of eating in if you want to.
Also, being boring, you'd have a washing machine which I find is an essential with kids.

Most of the hotels in the Orlando area are nothing special unless you're prepared to spend a fortune.

Trailfinders are excellent at finding cheap flights and there are plenty of websites to book villas direct with owners. e.g. holiday-rentals.

If you do book a villa then make sure that you stay in a development with 24 hour security. Some places appear cheap but it's often because they're not as secure.

bella I stayed there 12 years ago and it was lovely.

I'd recommend a villa too. As Badpups says, you have all the conveniences of the kitchen, washing machine etc.
I'd recommend a company called loyalty Homes which is owned by an english lady. she manages lots of luxury villas all of which are within 4 miles of Disney and have easy access to the I4 to the other attractions ie Seaworld, Universal etc.
www.loyaltyusa.com She regularly does special offers and you can often get a home from $100 per night which is cheaper than two rooms in a basic motel. All the homes have private pools and many have games rooms too.
