Car seat or no car seat on flight?

Flying with my 16 month dd to Hong Kong next month on Cathay Pacific and have bought a seat for her- they don't have infant seats for toddlers to use on the bulkhead like BA and Virgin. Should I bring a car seat (would have to buy a new one as my Recaro front facing one is crazy heavy), or a sit and stroll (not sure where to get one in the UK), or let her go au naturel on the seat? I think one is supposed to buy a 'care harness' if the child goes on the seat herself.

Any advice gratefully received!

I wouldn't bother personally. I alsways bought DD a seat from a very early age,you may have to have her on your lap for take-off and landing but other than that, she will be fine "au naturel".
Lot of expense and hassle for very little benefit I think.
Enjoy your trip!

I wouldn't take the seat on board - did it once and it was a huge pain

Thanks for the advice, just want to make sure she will be comfortable on the big seat and will sleep easily - she is quite small for her age. But if you've done it and it was fine, I will probably do the same! Thanks again.
