Beach Resorts and Boston - Help ????

Hi we are going to Boston and Portsmouth in July to visit freinds and then we have a week to ourselves, can anyone recommend a beach resort/hotel for a family along the coast. I have looked at Rhode Island, Nantucket, Cape Cod etc, just dont know where to stay. Would love some recommendations please !!!!!

On the cape the further up you go the nicer it gets, anywhere above the elbow (look at a map you will see what I mean) is great. Can't recommend any particular hotel as we stay with family. Nantucket or the Vineyard are also gorgeous but if you have young kids then the cape has more to offer in the way of activities (can recommmend the pirate boat out of Hyannis). Last drove along the Conneticut coast 16 years ago, no kids and we just camped in state parks when we felt like pulling over.

We stayed at the Cliffside Beach Club in Nantucket with our 18month old last summer and it was fantastic. It's literally on the beach, has a nice pool and was a great and relaxed place to stay......

My family who live in MA always go to Nauset Beach in Cape Cod for holidays - looks amazing!

We've stayed in Chatham, Cape Cod and loved it. Very family friendly with nice beaches, great little shops for browsing and ice-cream shops for the kids. We loved the Cape!
