Calling any New Yorkers out there who holiday in the caribbean?

hi, we are planning to go to NY from London in July for a few days (U2, dh huge fan) then fly to the caribbean for 10 days.

would appreciate any help in where to go and stay based on a shortish fligh and a very family friendly resort (4/5 star) that isn't rainy season...

we're travelling with a 4 yr old and 1.5 yr old.

We flew from NYC to St Maarten last year in the summer. We actually went on from there to Anguilla so I cant tell you much about St Maarten itself apart from it looked nice! The flights were about 4 hours but be aware of storms over NY in the summer as these put our flights back massively and we were in ST Maarten airport with it all shut which bored me so if you travle with kids be prepared!
