We stayed in the treehouses down the road (when travelling with girl friends) from here
Beach near the Mount Olympos and ruins
Beautiful unspoilt part of Turkey with loads of history etc
Always wanted to return to stay in somewhere a little more salubrious but never got round to it
Would be v suprised if any tattoo etc at this hotel
Not sure how much for DCs though

We used to sneak up from our treehouses/cabins with all the loud Aussie girl travellers and sleep on their lovely deck chairs
Gawd knows how to get there now, we travelled by overnight coach [tired emotion] but that would have been because it was cheap

Have been to Mugla area but dp has tattoos so won't work for you which is a shame as its lovely

smugmumofboys · 29/12/2009 21:08

Years since I was last there. Patara beach lovely.

I think avoid those west coast resorts - Marmaris, Bodrum etc (where some of my rellies holiday lol).

I really want to go back now, Cappadocia fab but inland.

I lived in Turkey. I wouldn't say avoid the Bodrum area, just choose your resort carefully. Gumbet probably wouldn't be good for you, a bit too loud and British (lots of tattoo people) but Bitez is nice, lots of decent apartments, good beach, fairly quiet. Other resorts around the Bodrum Peninsula that are wort looking at are Oratkent, a more traditional Turkish resort, Yalikavak - small, lots of good apartments, again fairly traditional, Gumusluk - very pretty little fishing village, a bit more expensive to eat out though. Torba or Turgutreis.

Defintley avoid Marmaris though!
