If so, what was it like?!
I know it will be busy but did you have to stand around for ages to secure a good spot or can you move around pretty easily?
We are hoping to go this year but not sure what time we should arrive and what to expect in the run up to the countdown.

Any experience that could be shared would be greatly appreciated!

I have not done it with children.
it gets really, really busy - police cordoning off loads of stretches of pavement so it's quite hard to get to where you want to be. And there are lots of drunken knobbers around. Public transport gets packed and you might need to let a few buses go before you get onto one.

I would possibly do it if your kid are older, and have napped and eaten before you all head out, and know it's going to be a long night.

Otherwise, can you get to somewhere you can see the fireworks? I could see them really well from certain spots in Camberwell (but you won't want to be there!) but I bet Crystal Palace/forest hill or Alex palace are all good bets.

thanks - have seen numerous fireworks in ally pally so thought this would be a change.
Kids are up for it and I was thinking of getting there reasonably early so that we don't have to walk through too many people at the start. not sure if 10pm is early enough tho!
