Does anyone know if you can take christmas crackers with you in your luggage?

Probably a totally daft question Just wondering if there are any restrictions and whether they would have to be in the hold or hand luggage?

Im sure Ive seen this question asked on another forum and I think the answer was no unless you remove the snaps.

Last year you couldn't, I don't know if it's different now. sorry

The parents of a MNetter had cracker type sweets confiscated last month when they tried to fly to UK with them.

Well, the snaps were confiscated, they were allowed to take the sweets with them.

actually, I should amend this: it apparently depends on the airline you are flying. I just did a bit of a search and see that EasyJet, for example, allows them, up to two boxes worth.

So, maybe check with your airline?

I flew from Ireland to England and then on to France with them last year and was ok. Probably just got lucky though.

You can always pack them and if it's a problem you can take them out. Just put them on top of your luggage in case you heve to take them out

Thanks all

Have tried calling Easyjet but waited in queue for 20 minutes only to be cut off!!

Will pack them and ask at check in.

Thanks again!
