...I need to find another holiday for me, dh, 6 year old ds1 and 14 month old ds2....HELP!!!!!!!!

Ds1 would like sun holiday (spain, balearics etc) but we really cant afford to spend too much.

I dont like caravans or camping (am very claustrophobic!) and where we go needs to be baby friendly. May would be a good time to go.

Any ideas????????

Would love italy (where we were going originally!) but just dont know where to start...really need self catering accomodation I think.

aarggh.......

Flying from where?

LIZS · 13/12/2009 11:14

East Midlands ? Can't you rebook same from another one such as Stansted or Birmingham . Where were you going ? Presumably it wasn't a package if using EJ.

Have they not offered you another airport??
(Im assuming its EMA that you had originally planned to fly from?)

becaroo · 13/12/2009 20:48

BMI baby are going from EMA twice a week but not on a saturday which is when our accomodation was booked from. Sigh. Also still havent got our deposit money back, either

With 2 young children EMA is the only airport thats feasible for us really.

Very fed up.

Where do you live? Robin Hood airport is wonderful... we used it to go to Valencia.

No advice but just wanted to say 'bastard airlines' I've got the threat of the BA strikes over Christmas week which may mean I won't be flying home to my children who will be waiting for me at Heathrow airport and I won't be arriving

Hope you get something sorted and get your deposit back

becaroo · 16/12/2009 15:56

mumoverseas I am so sorry to hear that - how awful for you and the dc. Bloody airlines indeed. Any news on the legal action?????

On the money front got a phone call yesterday and should be recieving the money after xmas.

Just need to find a holiday now!.....

Hi becaroo, still waiting to hear what is happening. We have been told several times by the TA here that despite BA claiming that people affected by the strikes can change their flight dates to another date within the next 12 months, they won't let us do it!
DH therefore booked and paid for Emirates flights yesterday which cost us £1,500 and which has turned 2 x 7 hour journeys into a 14 and 24 hour journey. Had no choice as otherwise couldn't guarantee being back in time to collect my children.

A bit rubbish that you have to wait until after Christmas for your refund. Hope you get it ok x

What about Birmingham, Monarch fly to plenty of places from there and its not far to travel too
