Ok shite title but I'm tired (AF is visting and brain cells go dormant!) Seeing Santa at Selfridges this Saturday evening and would like to make a day off it. I'm looking for ideas that the kids (4 & 5 year old)will love and not too pricey for us adults please. Was thinking of Natural History Museum or even Science Museum (someone told me it was better for older kids???), somewhere nice to eat but not too pricey and anything else that is on the way????????

Science museum is fab, even for little ones as they have a basement full of big lego blocks, a water system, senses stuff etc. If the weather is nice you could go to Coram Fields, a fab playground Russel Sq/Holborn way.

Science museum is excellent for kids their age, you'll spend ages in there and won't get bored. And of course, all free. Carluccio's is nearby just outside High St Ken tube and has lovely food, is child-friendly and pretty reasonable prices.

Also love Transport Museum in Covent Garden, doesn't sound promising but is a great day out for little kids and Covent Garden is nice and xmassy at this time of year. Kids go free to the museum (adults have to pay).

Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green is pretty cool if you haven't been, and is free. Check their website for activities.

Winter Wonderland in hyde park is great to wander around, there's a xmas market and lots of rides but they are very pricey!

Science museum is great and there's a Graffe and wagamama nearby - both very child friendly.

I agree museum of childhood is fab buts it's so busy on saturdays and a drag to get to.

p.s it's only polite to thank people that have taken time to post before posting 'bump'.
