Any thoughts on flying with Etihad?

we're not booking flights yet, but Etihad currently have some VERY cheap nz/uk flights for next spring... never flown with them, and don't know anyone that has either! Has anyone any experience with them they would like to share?! We'll be flying with DD (3) and a new arrival, who'll be between 8 and 14 weeks.... thanks!

I've flown with them loads - excellent. Would fly with them all the time but they are usually 50% more than BA on the routes I take.

They recently won best airline in the world or something similar.

I've not flown with them but my friend who lives in Dubai used to fly them a lot and said they were really good

interesting ref the cheap flights next spring, very tempting

Agree with others, they're very good - we flew to Colombo via Bahrain on Etihad. Very good value at the time I remember. I had never heard of them but my brother who lived in Sri Lanka at the time used them alot and recommended them.

Okay but IFE system kept breaking which wasn't ideal.

DS1 flew with them to oz this july...said they were brilliant....most of the food had an asian or eastern flavour so if you arent keen on that fly singapore or quantas

pages of reviews here

nikki1978 · 16/12/2009 23:01

I am flying to Sydney with them in 17 days - hope the in flight entertainment works for us - 22 hours each way in a plane is a lot of time to kill!

We chose them as they were £300 cheaper than all other alternatives.

Some of those reviews are a bit dodgy though- suppose you get bad reviews with everything though....

Wouldnt use them again. Air con not working properly on outbound or inbound, Staff a little surly, food not good etc etc. Nope back to Emirates for us.
