Ok, brain in gear and I'll try again....has anyone been to Mauritius in August, and what is the weather like?

You could look at the BBC weather website for average conditions during august...

Only able to go by La Reunion which is about an hours flight away but it's sort of spring there, coming out of the rainy season - would describe as balmy.

Oh and it can be quite windy but the north-west should be okay.

Thanks both. We are looking at the east coast, and I have heard that it can be windy...

Trade winds at that time of year I think. Could be very windy.

we went around sept 1 a few years ago. was a bit windy on the east coast but not unbearable. the west coast was less windy - the island is small so you can move about easily but if you are booked in could be a problem ... it was warm though and very pleasant.
