Malaysia in August

Has anyone been to Mauritius in August?
What's the weather like, as I know it is their winter? We are thinking of staying on the East coast but are concerned that it is a loooong way to travel if there is little chance of sun!

I have been to Mayalysia in Aug and although you get rain I do remember nice weater too. The Perhentian islands were lovely on the East coast.
