hello there, as you might have guesses I do not like flying at all... I would like to ask you if you have ever used one of those cds or dvds (using hypnotherapy or not), and if you think it has helped you to overcome your fear of flying. If you used one, which one did you use? or did you do anything else that has helped you in any way... many thanks

I haven't found anything which helps tbh, I just grin and bear it - I absolutely loathe flying and hate every minute of it (and do it as seldom as I can) - sorry, that wasn't much help, was it

thanks for your message Mimsum. I am the same, hate it. I was not toooo bad last time we went away maybe because I was trying to be strongish to the LO who was 9mts at the time. We are going away on a similar longhaul trip (1 hour then 12 hours and then another 4ish hours flight) again and I am dreading it (he is going to be 2yo when we go). Have done hypnotherapy which helped a bit but did not 'cure' me... still hate it. Can't avoid this kind of trips since my family lives on the other side of the ocean :-) I guess I might also need to do that too, grin and beart it

Hi there.

I had the same problem as you, i was a petrefied passenger on an aircraft.

I did get a cd to help me overcome my fear and it was simply called 'fear of flying'.
I dont remember who it was by but i clarly remember it having a blue cloudy looking cover.

There was about 6 cd's in the pack but i only listened to the first 3 or so.

It did not completley take away my fear but it did help me a lot as i was aware what the different noises were that the aircraft made during take off and climing and then the decent and landing.

What actually totally cured me was having my friend come out to Tenerife with me as she was in a right state bless her heart so i felt as though i had to be strong for her and it worked and i was totally fine from then on.

Now i work as a nanny, babysitter and maternity nurse in Tenerife and fly back and fourth on my own (which i NEVER thought i would ever do)and i am fine.

All the very best and good luck.x

Hi Lisa,

thanks for your post. Sorry for taking so long to reply, hadn't checked it for ages hence the delay. It was nice to hear you overcame your fear of flying. It is a pity you don't remember who the author of the CD was, I tried to have a look online but couldn't find anything with 6 cd's, i might try something similar. I just look for anything that could help me deal with it. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience x
