Flight to NZ with 11 week old

We are off to NZ for a month to show off DD to all DH's family. Luckily my lovely Mum is coming with us too. We are going via Singapore with Singapore airlines, who I have travelled this route with several times, but am really, really nervous travelling with DD. Have requested a basinet (fingers crossed we get one!) Just wondered if anyone has some pearls of wisdom for taking a tiny baby on such a long flight? She is sleeping through 11pm-7am fairly regularly now so any ideas about getting her sleep pattern on track when we get there?

Have done this route with an 8 month old with Singapore Airlines (they are fantastic). Booking a bassinet doesn't guarantee one, we missed out on one leg so be mentally prepared not to have one. But sounds like enough adults to take turns holding.

If you're planning to have your buggy for transit in Singapore, don't put into a bag as they're not easily spotted by ground crew. Just remove anything that might get caught and I put a large elastic band around to ensure kept tightly closed.

Make sure you have 1-2 doses of Calpol as is the one time you don't want to be caught without (have done that).

Feed during take-off and landing if possible as it helps ears. Also if one of you orders a special meal (eg vegetarian) then you usually get served seperately so handy if baby a bit grizzly during meals and needs holding.

If transiting for a while in Singapore book into the transit hotel.

With getting her into NZ time, just be prepared to put her in a buggy and go for a walk at odd hours.

Have fun - envy your trip, been a while since I took the kids back there (from NZ, living in UK).
