ID for children on Easyjet

We fly easyjet within the UK quite a lot and always take the childrens passports for ID. 2 of the passports expire mid - Dec and I am not keen to replace them before Christmas if I don't have to. I have checked the easyjet website and it says children travelling within the UK do not need ID. Has anyone done this ? - I have visions of us turning up to fly 23rd Dec and being turned away !

Reassurance required !!!
