Lake Como with kids.

My brother is getting married at Lake Como next sept and I've been looking for accomodation near Varrena, preferably with a pool. We've been to the Italian Lakes before (with Eurocamp) but not Como. It seems a very 'grown up' place which is not a problem if we're in a villa but I don't want to have to be mindful of the children's noise all the time if we're on holiday. ( we were thinking of staying for at least a week)
Has anyone stayed around here?

I know! I just read that he lives nearby.
He wants me... I saw it in his eyes when I was watching Ocean's 11

Did a 'child-free' weekend there recently in Mid-Sept but we went to Bellagio and that was fairly un-kid friendly - only in that there isn't much to do with them there except stroll around, do some shopping and eat. But i think that italians are in general kid friendly and happy to see/hear children - the problem is that there isn't much there for them really.

I have to say i liked that i only saw a few children in Bellagio but thats cos i'd left mine behind and was enjoying the peace and quiet! I wouldn't worry so much about Varenna!

PS George wasn't there the weekend we wereHe'd buggered off to the Canadian Film Festival!)
