Desperate advice - nice hotel with brilliant kids clubs for xmas

We have decided to go away at xmas. However everywhere we find the weather does not appear any good at all - e.g. Morocco (raining) so DH now talking about Canaries. Am I right in thinking that Tenerife is best place to go for sun?

As my in laws are coming the hotel needs to be good but most important it needs very good kids facilities - kids club etc. children are 3.5 and 2.

Please can someone recommend somewhere they have been where weather should be pleasant and ease my headache.

Many thanks

Canaries are the best place to go in terms of weather.

stressed2007 · 04/11/2009 10:01

waiting for that comment.

No we would like to have a bit of a holiday ourselves too ..we have not been away for 3 years... ..our kids get up every night and we would just like the chance to have a little bit of relaxing time away from childen at certain parts of the day to. We would like us all to have a bit of a rest

Dubai?

Oman?

stressed2007 · 04/11/2009 10:05

Dubai. We had a hoiday priced for here - it was 15K! Flights alone are £4k for 6 of us to get there. We passed on it.

Suspect Oman would be the same?

We hope to go to Dubai somewhat cheaper later in the year - we have been once and it is fantastic.

Crieff Hydro, Scotland Cold but lovely and excellent kids facilities and childcare.

Another vote for Egypt here - Sharm if you want a beach holiday, Luxor etc if you want something more cultural.

stressed2007 · 04/11/2009 10:34

Sharm - we had been looking at that - then someone put wind up DH that are all extremists and tourists are in danger - I know ridiculous but think that has mullered that idea - and it did look v nice

Not in the nice hotels - Ritz Carlton is lovely but £££££, Hiltons Waterfalls is also nice and a lot cheaper - all the hotels have barriers, security etc and are really safe. Wouldn't bother leaving the hotels for Naama Bay - really tacky, and that's I guess where there is more risk of trouble, if there is any at all.

Not sure when the last terrorist attack was, but it was a long while ago, I think....
