Location for Hen Weekend, December, UK????

Cany anybody recommend a good location in the UK for a hen weekend. Getting married in December so hen weekend should ideally be in November. Need something spa related but with the ability to go out in the evening.

we go every year as a family and went for the 1st time on a hen weekend last year.

It was great - they have a spa there and restaurants - plus on a saturday evening they do a party. There's things like bowling and stuff too.

Plus the accomodation works out really cheap between 8/10 however many of you!!!

A friend of mine (I couldn't go sadly) booked a big cottage/converted barn in the Yorkshire Dales for her winter hen do. It had open fires etc, so was really cosy and relaxing and she arranged for a team of beauticians to come in during the day for manicures/pedicures/facials/massages etc, then at night caterers brought in and served a slap up meal with plenty of champagne and wine! Entertainment of the male kind(!) also arrived courtesy of some friends! They stayed for two nights, so the cottage was near to a nice town with a few pubs in, in case people wanted to get out for a bit.
She organised all the bits and pieces separately but I think there are companies that will put the whole package together for you - altohugh might be a bit pricey to do it that way.

Has anyone stayed in a decent hotel in Bath? Any ideas for a comedy club or salsa club in Bath?

There's a holiday cottage down the road to me (wilts) that sleeps up to 15, I think and can arrange beauticians etc to visit and do it all there. I think they will also arrange food to be delivered. Looks very nice, they have a pool also, though not so good for the winter.

We are about 30 mins from Bath, though there are plenty of pubs around and places to eat.

If you google Ashe cottage you'll probably find it, or you can CAT me.

ok you'll think i'm mad but what about Belfast.Loads of cheap flights, easy city to get aroud and the second biggest Arts Festival in UK is held in Belfast in November. Will tell you more about the city if you haven't fallen into a heap of laughter..........

haven't stayed in Bath before but my friends a midwife in Bristol and when I stayed with her we went to a great comedy club - I think they have quite a lot of things like that in Bristol, might be worth looking at

I had my hen weekend at Tuckenhay Mill nr Totnes in Devon - lovely place, sleeps 10, swimming pool, sauna, big open fires etc. Two gorgeous pubs within walking distance.

Been to Manchester on a hen weekend and just back from Glasgow on another hen weekend and 3yrs ago went to Belfast on a hen weekend! All were brilliant! For my hen weekend next year we are all heading to Alton Towers, big kid that I am!

Lunavix, whole family are from Glasgow, grew up there until I was 12. Then moved to Wiltshire.

Hi mcrobb. The Belfast festival at Queens takes place around the university in November for two weeks. The programme will be announced on Sept 7th.Last year they had everything from Jimmy Carr to Dizee Rascal to The buena Vista Social Club. It really is brilliant:fun
Belfast is compact and becoming more bijou by the day. there are quite a number of great little boutique hotels near the city centre like Ten Square or the Malmaison. Most of the eating and drinking takes place to the south of the city around the university area. Shopping is great too . Quite a few different shop from UK( althogh more and more of the same high st. usuals too.You will find it much cheaper to eat out than the south of england. Not sure where yournearest airport is. There are direct flights from Bristol, Bournemouth, Exeter, Cardiff,etc.belfast city flight Th city airport is only 5 mins to city centre by taxi.
I guess it depends what kind of a weekend you fancy. See Northern ireland tourist board for a bigger picture:NITB
Yummy food by Paul Rankin and many other places....

Glasgow is great for a hen-nights. We went to Flares where even the bouncers wear 70's kipper ties. Remember your potty, I made about £120.
